Hi, the purpose of this blog is to try to put some sense into the stuff we get thriough the media. To start:
Today we heard that the Govt is missing out on tax as people are not spending. Why are they not spending? Because food prices, fuel prices etc are giving them less disposable income. Strange, if you spend more does not the Govt get more tax? Also as an example Power Companies are making record profits, do they not also pay more company tax? As far as I know there is no special tax on "disposable income", that we no longer apparently have. It all sounds fishy to me
